Day 3 - Kennedy Space Center

We were very excited to go to the Kennedy Space Center on Monday.  We drove from Mike and Bonnie's house to get there shortly after it opened, and were completely ready to see and do everything there!
They loved this count down clock!
Right after the entrance is a place called the "Rocket Garden" where you can climb into rockets and play around on real, unused space craft.

Luke loves posing, Josh not so much.

Pretending to land on another planet.

We listed to astronaut J.O. Creighton talk about his three missions to space, and then got a photo with him afterward.

These floating balls are so cool!
Josh was carrying his own camera this time, and requested his picture taken in front of so many features.

Our favorite exhibit was the Atlantis area.

Josh requested this picture, and Mike was on the ground for it.  Good Daddy alert! :)
We took so many pictures in front of this sign, it reminded me of wedding pictures.

My little goofballs.

This is the real space shuttle!

The boys loved playing on this exhibit.

I didn't realize that the tubes were clear until later...no wonder it's super fun!

Josh took a zillion pictures at the space center, and this one made me smile. (Josh is left handed too!)

America's bravest astronauts
Luke says he wants to live on Mars now, and showed me how he can be a pilot in real life. :)
Who knew that the Moon Rover's seats were made of lawn chair webbing?

After the space center we went to our hotel on Cocoa Beach.  Our hotel had a huge tiki bar, and they served blue drinks.  I try to have one for my mom on every vacation.

The boys loved the hotel pool. They shut it down at 11 PM this day.
