From Rhino Camp to House Hunting

Josh went to a lacrosse camp and LOVED it!  He met two professional lacrosse players.  This is Ryan Powell, the legend!

And this is Blaze Riorden, the best goalie in pro lacrosse right now.  So cool! 

Josh talked me into buying him a shirt at Rhino camp, and he chose this "business" shirt.  He told me it will look right when he tucks it into his pants.  (is this middle school fashion??)

Thursday afternoon we met my friend Jean and her two sons (you remember her from last weekend at Georgetown Lake camping/boating).  We met at the Bozeman Beach for some floating and kayaking.  It was an absolutely gorgeous evening. 

After a few hours of floating, we went across the pond to MAP brewing, and let the kids play until dinner.  This is why we love summer!

Friday was hot, and we were home, so we decided to get the hose involved with the trampoline.  Josh is a back flipping maniac!

Saturday we were at Polson to look at some lake houses.  This was the dock on the first one. The boys are debating how deep the water is.  

At one of the houses, Luke found a "secret trap door!"

The next house was a time machine, straight back to the 70's, black streamlined toilet and all! 

It even had a sunken black tub.  

Our fourth house was lovely.  This is the boys on the dock, begging us to make an offer on it.  

After we looked at houses, we went to lunch.  This is Mike explaining to the boys how many boats we'd need if we had a lake house.  Such an attentive audience! 

After lunch and waiting for a storm to pass, we got our boat in the water and went up to the lovely house on Whiskey Cove.  The water was perfection! 

Isn't it great? We made an offer, but will find out Monday.  Waiting is hard. 

Saturday night we got some Moose's pizza and let the boys play in the backyard of my parents' new house.  They were wild boys, and it was so much fun! 

They got drenched in their normal clothes, and had a pretty fierce water splashing/throwing battle.  

Water fights make me happy!  I can still hear the laughter in my memories. 

Quick Update

Friday afternoon we went to the Fun Zone near our house.  The boys loved the big foam pit and played in it for about an hour!

Friday evening we went to Sidewinders and had to wait for a bit, so we played shuffleboard.  Josh and I were on a team,  Luke and dad were on the other. We had fun! 

The ride home was extra fun for the backseat passengers. 

They're such goofballs! 

Saturday we went to Georgetown Lake with our friends, the Conovers.  Here is Josh with Chase and Cody on the back of the boat. 

Luke took a short but epic ride on the wakeboard after dinner Saturday night.  He did a huge jump and came up with a chipped tooth. 

We'll go to the dentist tomorrow for this little number. 

Sunday he said he was not getting in the water, and just wanted to hang out in the drivers seat of the boat. 

Sunday Josh did a trifecta of water sports.  Starting with water skis.  (Cody wanted to waterski, so we had them out in the boat.)

Moving to wake boarding.  He did a great jump, it's fun to watch his athleticism. 

And ending with his favorite, surfing.  He did a 360 turn and actually rode it out!  We were so impressed.  He did a few 720 spins on accident, which is kind of amazing, but didn't quite land those.  He's getting so good so quickly! 

And before we knew it, we were at the Hauf Brau for a late lunch on the way home...

Happy Birthday America!

Our weekend started out with Mike traveling all week and returning late Friday afternoon. I took it upon myself to get our boat from storage and bring it home, the first time for me doing this without Mike. Baby steps for this boat owner. 

We drove to Missoula and spent the night in our camper at the truck stop.  It was a fun ride for Luke and Daddy, it looks like! 

These boys were READY to get in the water and "on the lake" as Josh calls it.  

We got to Beyond Hope campground and got our trailer settled, then found our friends.  Kyler quickly jumped on our boat and we went to do fun water stuff.  We jumped off the boat to cool off, and it became a fun time.  The boys loved swimming around and got really brave.

Luke decided to surf a bit, which was fun to watch.  He didn't surf much last year, so it was fun to see him learn and love it!

He still loves wake boarding though! The sunset rides were so much fun!

We love watching him jump!  He even tried to do his elusive grab, but didn't quite get it this weekend. 

Josh was surfing for a crowd of boys.  We had Fabe, Luke, Taden (a new friend, his dad is a pro wakeboarder!), and Kyler. 

Luke and Kyler dominated the little two-seater tube.  They had such a fun ride! Kyler did a crazy high launch...he must have been 6' off the ground and head over feet!  He loved it, though! 

Caden's family has this cool pad that is rigid, so it's like having a floating island.  So much fun!  The day started out super windy, so we told the kids if they helped us get it set up, we'd let them play on it until the wind calmed down.  Look at this team work!  

Ashtyn turned 14 on Monday, and had a great surfing day!  

Josh was working on transferring from his regular side to his switch side, which is a very cool trick.  Eric, Taden's dad, was helping him.  This is Josh "mastering" riding switch so that once he got over the wave he would know what to do on the wrong side.  We're smiling because he's killing it over there! 

Our baseball stadium.  We have a bunch of great dads who will play baseball into the dark with their kids. 

On Tuesday, Lisa gave everyone colorful hair.  Josh was so excited to have a red/blue mohawk!

Kyler was so concerned about falling and wrecking his mohawk. He fell twice but kept his head above water, like a champ!

Luke surfed with his mohawk and it lasted a while, too! 

Later in the day we decided to do a double-boat Bowl for one brave surfer.  We drove our boats next to each other and made a monster wave.  It didn't work how we planned, but it was fun to watch!

We did another swimming break, and this time Connor got brave enough to jump in.  Josh was so cute with him, asking him to swim a little further each time, and doing hugs in the water.

This is our friend Travis' boat.  It goes so fast!  

Josh got to try Taden's surf board, and he thought it was so fun he decided to try to body surf.  He figured it out and rode the wave a while!  I was very impressed. 

Who knows what this boy is up to.  He's a goof ball and he makes me happy. 

Fourth of July garb...

Mike is so fun to watch surf. He's great! 

We boated over to Sandpoint to watch fireworks. It was about 1/2 hour boat ride, and well worth it!
