Cabin Weekend!

Josh has been playing lacrosse with the bounce back (rebounder) in the garage.  He aimed a little high and took out our garage window.  Boys!

Look at this beautiful winter sunset!

Friday we went to the cabin, and the boys slept on the couch because it's much warmer than the bedrooms upstairs.

Saturday morning we woke up to a lovely sunny day!
Look at the view to the mountains.  Ahhh....love this!

The boys had fun sweeping and pretending to play curling.
Ruby loved hanging out to snow.

Josh took this pretty panoramic from between our dock and our neighbor Brad's.

The boys threw ice chunks out on the thin ice just off the shore.  It made the coolest noise and was a ton of fun.

We walked out to the neighbor's dock to see their flagpole, and noticed a fun view of our house. :)

My little curlers. I love that they can play outside with no toys, no screens, no nothing for hours.
They're curling -- they didn't know we were watching -- they were just determining the rules of their game here.

We took a nice little walk, and Josh chose to ski instead of walk. Figures.

Josh really wanted to ski of this dock, but we wouldn't let him.  We're so boring.

This is the view just over the hill from our house.  The mountains are stunning!

Josh negotiating with Mike about if he could please, please, please jump off the dock.  No.  Again.

We built our first outdoor fire! It was lovely and I can't wait to have a zillion more fires out here.
Lets do this again, but in the warm summer nights!

While we were sitting around the fire, Josh and Luke were doing some backyard ski and snow fun. This is Josh jumping over Luke.

Here's my favorite picture of Josh's shenanigans.  A sweet daffy.

Josh did a series of jumps, starting up at the shed and ending on Brad's dock.
He worked hard to get this tree tap down so well.

Luke decided to make another snow fort.  He said this one had flooring and decorations.
This fort had ski holders, and a place to lie down (a chaise lounge, if you will).
She said "thanks for bringing me back to the lake" here.

Josh, crazy as ever, did a Polar Plunge.

He seriously committed to it!  He said he would get his hair wet and we told him that he'd have to walk out so far, it would be almost impossible.  He just marched out...

and then he dove right in!

Crazy kid!

Pretty shocking I guess!

He headed straight back into shore, smartly!

We told him he had to have a towel at the shore, and run up to the shower.  He said he loved it and would do it again!

While he was up showering, Luke found an ice berg to play on.

He broke this big sheet free, and set it off to the lake.

The water was about 38 degrees for the Polar Plunge and iceberg liberating.

Saturday evening the alpenglow was gorgeous.  The pictures just didn't do the glowing pink snow capped mountains justice.
