Quick week

Must have bee a slow week if the first picture I have on my camera is from Wednesday's dinner.  I got an Instant Pot and we tried ribs. Pretty good for 30 minutes cook time!
This was Mike's dinner Wednesday night.  He went to a place call El Gaucho in Portland and had a flaming kebab of dinner!

Thursday we had an adventure in deep cleaning.  Our house had lice!  What a good excuse to do some long over due laundry and deep cleaning.

Friday night was the Tisdel's house warming party. We took a shot of Kraaken for Kevin.  We stayed out too late and had too much fun!
Who's ready to run?  Luke was excited for his second track practice.

Look at this form!

Luke's hurdles were fun to watch. (gold lane in the middle)  He started out a bit slow, but finished fast!

See, he's already catching the other kids.

Weekend

Friday was my turn to go to Luke's classroom and listen to the students read.  I got to grab kids in pairs and I listened to Preslee read with Luke.  So cute!

Saturday we went skiing and Josh had another great training session.  I looked back at him in the car, and I just can't believe what a ski bum he is.  Luke loves skiing too, and so does Mike, but none of them have this swag.

Sunday was Little Bobcat Track day, the first of three days.  Luke said this one, the pole vault, was his favorite. I'm surprised he liked to swing on the rope, but he loved it!

This was a cute relay.

Next was the long jump.  The coaches had the kids skip down the approach, and Luke's form was impeccable. :)

He liked this one, but his favorites were Javelin and Pole Vault.

Hilerie!!

Hilerie was here!  It was the most lovely thing - I told her I was going to Kalispell for Bill Dye's memorial service, and she told me to drive safe. I told her I'd be looking for a friend to drive with me, and she offered!  Woo hoo!  I picked her up in Butte on Friday afternoon, and we went to the cabin for a night of laughter.

Saturday we met at John's house for lunch, and we gave Rylan the train table that the Wrights gave to Josh when he was 2. Rylan LOVED it. He was a maniac, giving hugs after every successful piece put together, and even taking a victory lap though the kitchen.

Hilerie said she's always wanted a brother. I'm happy to share mine.
Saturday night we went to Tamarack Brewing and snapped this "family" photo.  I can't believe both of my parents are smiling at the same time!

Our dock is looking pretty high and dry!

The cove looks so different with snow.
Josh made himself a little rail slide in our yard.  Goofball.

He said he was hot in his tee shirt.

He's pretty fun to watch, with all the tricks he tries.

Sunday we visited Barbara and Tiffanie to pay our condolences, and then we drove to Bozeman. We were greeted by Chef Joshy who was making individual pizzas for us.

Ruby has a new BFF.  Hilerie just loved on Ruby for the entire time she was in town.

Shredders

Luke got his BSF team coat this week.  He looks so tough.
I like the subtle team name at the butt.

We played Speak Out this week.  I haven't laughed so hard in a long, long time.

Best game ever, Josh says!

This is what Luke thinks of me taking his picture on the first day of BSF training.  Ha ha ha

This is after training, where he can't stop telling dad how awesome it is.

This season Luke's group gets done an hour before Josh's, so we chose the Grizzly Ridge Bar for the meeting place.  Mike and I got personalized mugs there, which makes us feel like true dirtbags.  Love it!!

Sunday Mike took our boys, plus Kyler and Ashtyn for an all day ski.  They met a co-workers son and friend of the boys for the afternoon.  Brave Daddy.  Josh was showing us what a true Jerry would do.

A cabin week plus Happy 2018!

We left for the cabin on the morning after Christmas.  The trip was pretty, and the mission mountains looked pretty with some low clouds.
This is the road between the highway and the cabin.  The snow was so pretty!

I love the snowy sign!

Quite a bit of snow, and it stacks up nicely.

We got to the cabin in the afternoon, so we had plenty of time to get settled in playing video games and doing puzzles. It was cold when we got there (42 inside) and so we all huddled in the living room while the fireplace warmed our house.

Ruby has the best seat in the house, right in front of the fire.

We hung Josh's mounted antlers.  We decided to call the boys' bedroom the Bucks Nest, after Josh's favorite hunting spot.  I love the double entendre.

Wednesday we went skiing at Blacktail, which is now our "home" hill when we're up there.

We loved it!  It's small and pretty easy so we all had places to ski and be happy!

Josh found a way to lose his skis just a few feet off the main trail.  I liked that several of the blue runs (my happy zone) were close to some trees and jumps (the boys' happy zone) so I could see them do crazy jumps.

We had lunch at the restaurant called Muley's On the Mountain. Josh had a Big Air burger and Luke tried a black bean burger.

Chairlift buddies!
They shoveled our dock!  Good little workers!

Daddy can't let the boys play without him!
Thursday I took my car to Kalispell to get the 4WD fixed and the boys stayed at the cabin.  They went to the dock and checked out the scenery.
I think the icicles are amazing.
I think they called this one the Octopus.
It's so fun to see the contrast between this winter scene and the summer memories.
Our lovely cabin/happy place.
The boys wanted to check out the "Chevy Chase ladder" in the garage.
They took a little nature walk, aka Neeture Walk.
They thought it was fun to shake the snow off the trees onto their heads.  Silly boys!
How is he smiling??
Ruby was very happy to be outside.
After the deck was cleared, the dock was cleared, the snow had been shaken off trees, it's time to crack a beer.
Thursday night we finished this puzzle.

Friday the "pineapple express" storm blew in, and we watched some huge waves rock our little cove.  It sounded like the ocean!

The boys wanted to watch the storm but didn't want to be cold.
Saturday morning Josh made us all breakfast.  Gramma and Grampa Wright were here, and they were so impressed with his skills!

We went to the lake Saturday morning to check out the dock.  Nice outfit, Mikey.
Like father like son.
The dock was iced up hard.  The waves must have hit a lot of high spots, and it froze in such a pretty way.

Our poor neighbor's swim ladder didn't fare well in the storm.
Saturday the boys had some outside fun.  Luke built this fort that has a tunnel for enter, exit, and sleep.  It also has a restaurant called "Fleir's Food" (named after Rick Flair's original name), a TV, and on and on.
He was very proud of his hard work!
Josh built a jump on the flower bed.
He was ready!

Josh is crazy! He did  bunch of jumps, some 180's, some Shifties, even a 360.

The 4th completed puzzle of the break.  Mom and I worked hard on this one, and so did Mike.  Not to brag, but we did it, start to finish, in 1 day.  Dedication. :)
