Shenanigans

The three boys set up a ripstik obstacle course the other night while I was at the school for a gardening thing. I love their boy shenanigans.  I smiled so big when I parked on the street so that I could watch this obstacle course -- complete with Mike in a helmet and Ruby on a leash!
Mike must have gotten on top of his truck for this eye in the sky view.

Luke's getting really good at Ripstiking too. Josh is better at it -- but it's his Ripstik!--but they're both really fun to watch.

They were doing this for time, of course, so the tongue was out because it was Super Intense.

The next day I came home from work and found this on my nightstand.  "To: Mom From J&L  Nerf Zombie Strike Sling Fire and Minecraft WiiU. Please can we get" with "amazon" underlined in the corner.  Amazing ask, right?

Big day.  Friday Mike bought a new truck!  The boys promise to be SO good and super clean in it!

Meet Quicksilver, aka The Quickie according to Josh.  I was rolling when he told us that new "nickname" for the truck.

Quicksilver pulled our trailer really nicely.  Turns out brand spanking new trucks are nicer than 12 year old ones.  Who knew!?
Onto our weekend lake pictures.  We went to Hauser Lake to Marissa and Roger's house for the weekend.  Saturday the weather wasn't great, but the night turned out amazing.  Josh was doing great surfing and rapping to Panda and Pep Rally.

Luke on his belly, Tom in the middle, and Gabe on the right -- the makings of an excellent tube ride!  Luke's small enough to flip around a lot from on his belly to on his butt. Tom rode on his belly with his feet over the back for a while, crazy guy!

The evening lake was incredible...check out his form and check out those sky colors!

Hang 10!
Luke was chilly after he wakeboarder, so he got the Rocky Robe to warm up in!  It's HUGE on the kids!
I think he looks like some kind of Star Wars character in his giant robe.

We had quite a crew with us! 6 families in total, 29 people! Just look at these cute kiddos!

We are lucky to have friends like this!  Left to Right -- Jenkins, Ryles, Tisdels, McDonough/Davis, Campbells, and Whitakers.  What a way to close our summer!

Dogs, Injuries, Board Meetings

We had a little puppy play date with Bobby Monday night.  He's so funny, he is kind of lazy and likes to lay down a lot.  Josh thought he'd get down to Bobby's level to convince him to keep going.

We took a walk through the neighborhood, one kid on a scooter and one kid walking the dog. They switched off, and this picture of Luke walking Bobby while wearing his full face helmet makes me laugh.

We stopped at our friends' house, who has neighbors building a house and a lovely dirt pile. The kids played there forever, just enjoying dogs, dirt and sunshine!

Wednesday the boys went to gramma and grampa's pool at Bear Canyon.  Josh loves the water slide@

Luke is pushing Josh into the pool.  Josh said he did a "630 spin" into the pool.  Counting every angle, it's a 540 plus 90.

Thursday was cast removal day!  Josh was hard on this second cast, one that he's had for 4 weeks only!

The hand bridge part started falling apart about a week and a half ago, so we duct taped it to keep from getting it recasted (again).

And he's free!

He said it felt very strange to be free of the cast, and kept holding his arm like this.  thanks for the "after" smile!

The boys came to my office before the doctor, and when they left I found this on my back.  Classic move,!

Later on Thursday, Luke was standing on the wall between the therapy pool and the swimming pool at The Ridge, and got his left leg trapped between the pool wall and the hand rail. He was stuck there for about 45 minutes! The Ridge employees finally tried the magic combination of prying, yanking (Zach from in the pool) and good ol' vaseline.  He was completely unhurt, other than a nasty bruise! So lucky!!

As per our typical summer weekend, we went to Canyon Ferry (Goose Bay) for another fun weekend on the lake!  Andy pulling Ty, pulling Connor here on their kayaks.  These kids are close as cousins.

Josh was a great surfer this weekend. He rode for about 15 minutes (three songs!) without the rope!  I love his smile and his "look ma no hands" here!

Luke got some surfing time in, too. Look at that slack rope -- he's surfing!

Luke likes wake boarding (maybe) better than surfing, so he did more of that.

Sunday night we had Mike, Bonnie, Bob, Shelley and Greg over for dinner.   A few years ago (we're thinking maybe 2010?) Greg made this cardboard box into The Turd Launcher, where the kids climbed in and someone kicked it from behind. The boys are much bigger now, and barely fit into the box, but still loved playing with it!

Luke brought it back to the attic by carrying it on his back. He looked like SpongeBob Square Pants!

We're only missing Martha for a full Board Meeting!  What a great way to end our week!

Fun Summer Week

Luke and Josh were having fun in the driveway with scooters They were running over water bottles...

and modifying the brake with duct tape.

Tuesday we got Luke a much needed hair cut.  This is before...goof ball.

We have been enthralled with the Olympic, Michael Phillips (that's what the boys call him) and Usain Bolt are our two favorites.

Wednesday we went to Butte for the first annual Burgman-Boyle basketball game, a tribute to my late cousin Kyle.  The boys were shooting around with the team at the Civic Center, wearing flip flops no less.

My cousins' kids got to play for a few minutes each half.  Very cool tribute!

After the game, we all met at the KC for a drink and some pizza. The kids gravitated toward the stairs.  I love how goofy Luke is in this picture.

Thursday we decided to make cookies, and Luke came up with a "sure winner" for the bake off with babysitter Zach.

We made chocolate chip with watermelon sour patch toppings.  Mind blown.

Saturday we went to Georgetown Lake.

Gramma Bonnie got cold -- in AUGUST -- and brought her own snuggly blanket.

We bought a new surf board for the kids, a Scamp, and it worked super well for the kids.

Josh wanted to surf and wakeboard in the same day with his cast still on (it comes off this week!).  Check and check!

When we got home we snapped a picture of the boys' pumpkins.  They're growing very nicely!

This one has been hiding under leaves and we just saw it for the first time this week. It's a monster!

Sunday dinner with the grandparents was fun and we decided to do some floats. This is the selection that the boys came home with.  I chose Dang! rootbeer and grampa harley had Swamp Pop.

Don't these look delicious?

Cheers to a nummy summer tradition!

This is Luke attempting to be dainty and to hold his pinky up.  It's a tricky move. :)
