Inspirational Hike

Even though this is what the weather looked like, we decided to take a hike.

Luke led us to the boat dock by following the moose footprints. He stepped on every single one.
This is our view from the boat ride across Jenny Lake.
We opted to pay for a boat ride in one of these boats (which Luke declared was the biggest boat he's ever seen!) instead of hiking the 2 miles along the shore.

We had two very competent Rangers leading our group.  Luke kept saying things like "You have arrived at your destination" and "if you want to go the fun way, follow my trail."

Very quickly after we left the boat dock, we came across this beautiful gorge.  We thought it was worth a quick pic.

Our first destination was Hidden Falls.  Lovely!
Family shot in front of the falls...this is why we came, right Josh?
Nothing special here, just a cute little hiker boy.
They crack me up -- Josh certainly never walked in a straight line, or really exactly on the trail either.  They march to the beat of their own drummers, that's for sure!

By crossing this bridge, you can continue another 1/2 mile or so up to Inspiration Point.  I don't know what I did to make the boys so mad...

The trail was short (only 0.4 miles) but steep and rocky!  The boys were troopers for the most part.
We had to coax Luke along with candies. Thank God we hiked with grandparents. :)

I was a nervous nelly until we got to the top...
Where Josh decided it was time to take a rest.  On the rock.

What a view.

Mountain Selfie

Saving our memories.

We sat on a rock and looked across the valley at a hillside that was Bear Country. Luke used his "see fars" to find bear.

And enough of this sitting, lets climb.  Luke used the lingo he learned at Spire Climbing Camp last week and had us laughing (Oh, I see a sloper, for example).

Pretty soon we were heading down. Luke took a minute to rest, and no doubt discuss Big Issues, with grampa.

This was our view was we made our way back to the lodge. We had about 1/2 hour of sunshine...and it was lovely!
