Happy Independence Day!

We went camping at Canyon Ferry for the 4th of July weekend.  One of our friends had a flag on their trailer, and it looked so pretty to me in the sunset.

As you would expect, we spent a lot of time in the water.  The boys basically got out to eat and sleep. Luke really mastered the Explorer 200 rowing...although he looks quite concerned in this picture.

Josh and Gabe had a great time in these awesome kayaks.

And on the stand up paddle board.  They basically tooled around the bay on one floatation device or another all weekend.

Ady and Ashtyn and the only girls in our group of 8 children, so they play together a lot.  Could they be any cuter?
This is a picture of the three dogs swimming for one stick. Ruby was so happy to be with other dogs and to be swimming.

One of the friends brought a boat with a three-seat tube.  So much fun.  The boys rode around until our driver got dizzy.

Can you beat this scenery?

The kids got to watch movies when it got dark.  Spoiled!

We have wood freak hubands. This stack of wood was for three nights.  We burned through almost all of it too!

There really is nothing better than a campfire, though.  Luke likes to sit on daddy's lap and watch the fire.  And fall asleep...

Victory -- we tired our our sweet Ruby.

And last but not least, this is how Luke wanted to sleep Saturday night. Ruby sleeps on the couch on that blanket, so this night Luke chose to sleep there too so they could be togehter.  The next morning he told me it was great to sleep next to her because seeh protected him and he was not scared.  Job well done, Rubes.
