The Weekend Update

It looks like it was a fast week, I have only one picture to share from the week.  Our Joshy was sick with an ear infection and strep throat Monday and Tuesday, and Wednesday-Friday were busy I guess.  So here's the weekend...
This is how Josh made his return to school after Spring Break.  Wednesday is band day, and he was itching to play some lacrosse with his buddies at recess.  He brings 3 sticks and 3 helmets, 2 for his friends who don't have their own gear.  I love how good of a friend he is!
Saturday was Josh's last day of ski lessons this season.  We went for a 3/4 family ski day while he was in his lessons. Luke and Daddy wanted to hike to The Fingers, and I can't ski there.  This is Luke hiking up -- isn't that steep?

Looking back to see where his daddy is.

Once they got to the top, they took a little break. I love his mouth breathing. :)

Top of the Mountain selfie!

After such a big accomplishment, they met me at the Grizzly Bar for some lunch and foosball.  We had some seriously heated battles.

This face -- this scrunched up smile -- was seen a lot!  Luke and I formed a team and beat daddy twice!

Then we went to the outside patio bar where we could watch Josh on the lower terrain park.  Not sure why Luke thought it would be a  good idea to arm wrestle us, but again the scrunched face was helping.

Wonder where he gets it!
Sunday we decided to do something about the sports shelves in our garage.  They were creeping out into the driveway!
We got a new place to put all those balls, and tidied up a bit. Much better!

Sunday the 3 boys went shooting.  Looks like a lovely day for it!

Wonder if he hit where he was aiming.

I love that Josh still wears his special blocked out shooting glasses.

Brothers.

they're very technical.

They were gone for 4 1/2 hours, and Mike said it's because they bring so many guns. I guess so!!  They had a blast together, and that's what we care about.
Our second attempt at Montana Hula Pie.  This was delicious, but we really think we should just go back to Hawaii to taste the real one.

Day 7 (and 8) Surf's Up!

On our last morning at the hotel, we went to their big buffet breakfast.  On our way back we had  the boys pose with this totem that we saw all the time.

While we packed (boo hoo), the boys did mad libs on the patio.

These flowers were blooming all over our hotel.

This is Egg Tree, which we passed every time we went from the pool to the room.

Ahh, home.  Ha ha ha, our very own tiki bar!

On our last day we went to Black Rock to snorkel one more time.
Josh stepped on a  sea urchin on his last try to jump off Black Rock.  He got about 25 little tiny spikes in his foot, poor guy.  We learned that the remedy is a little vinegar on it, and let the spikes dissolve in the next 3-4 days. So far that's worked well.  Josh was bummed that he didn't get to jump for his last jump but he did about 10 jumps, so he's probably all good. ;)

The boys wanted to do surf lessons, and luckily they had room for us in the afternoon of our last day.
They offered an add-on of a dedicated photographer and we decided to do it!  I am so happy with these great pictures!

Grass training!

Josh did great!  So many good waves!

We watched from the beach, and didn't have to worry about capturing the moments.

He was so happy that he "parked it" on the beach!

Parked it again!

Bracing for a big wave.

That wave was huge!

One of the last convertible rides of the trip.
After lessons we had a Hospitality Room at the hotel, and we got all cleaned up for dinner.  We had our last mai tai and pina colada at Duke's.

Third and final Hula Pie! We demolish these pies, it's like a war for every bite. :)

Last dinner was at Duke's on Kaanapali. It was at a very fancy condo resort place.

Our last sunset was gorgeous. Again.

Last sunset and last family photo!
Our flight left Maui at 10:45 Hawaiian time (which is 2:45 AM in MT!) Josh couldn't make it to the flight awake, he fell asleep like this. When he woke up, he had no idea where he was and what was going on.

And we landed in LA at 6:45 AM California time.  Josh didn't sleep well on the plane and so he fell asleep on the floor of the Crown Room.

They looked pretty ready sit still on a plane don't you think?

Luke and daddy got to be partners on the LAX to BZN flight.  Can we just talk about Luke's hat?  He rocks that hat, and it is a hard hat to really sell.  It was $7 at an ABC store, and it's about 6" tall!

Poor Josh had to ride with me, and I fell asleep pretty much before we took off.  Those are some glassy eyes!
Whoooo, what a spring break!
