First Camping Trip of 2012

My happy fishing boys in the boat.  They're so silly with their crooked hats and dirty faces, I just love them.

Our camp site  -- we had 9 adults and 8 children -- on the Madison. Not far from the Bear Trap Fire that is so devastating right now.  But don't worry, it was not caused from us. :)

Daddy took the boys (and Kyler and his daddy Kevin) for a few floats in the boat. Josh and Kyler convinced themselves that if they got a bite they caught a fish, so according to them they caught 16 fish on this 1 1/2 hour float. Ha ha ha. I love Luke's face in this picture. He's a boss.

Josh loved his fishing time.

Bank or boat, he was happy to have line in the water.

He even got a chance to row a bit.

Here is one of the beauties that made it into the boat. :)

Kyler was loving fishing too. That's a million dollar smile!

The King of FiddlyFarting, Luke didn't care if he was fishing or not, he was just happy.

Luke caught his first fish ever on Friday night.  Big big deal.

At first he was not too sure about holding this flopping slimy fish, but who can blame him?

Here's Luke rowing. I love his little tiny legs that don't hit the bottom of the boat.

And just a silly shot of a dirty camping boy.

Josh LOVES to touch the fish eyes.  WHY??

Fathers Day Dinner

Cheers to a summer night with family!

We love Harleys

Josh is pouring Ouzo shots, or Ooze as he calls it, for us.

Just chillaxin on his beach chair. :)

Luke and daddy played catch with a wiffle ball -- Luke also was dancing intermittently

Look at that form!

I love that Luke can stand up in his beach chair. He decided that he was on the beach when he was on that chair. A couple of dogs came by and were sort of right in our chairs/space, so Luke told them "no dogs on the beach!"

Fathers Day Hike

We went to Bear Canyon to go on a Fathers Day hike with Grampa and Gramma Harley.  It was beautiful scenery and weather, and was a great time all in all.

I call this one Boys On A Rock.

And this is a rare family shot.

The family fiddlyfarters brought up the tail end for a while...

Josh really wanted a picture of him on daddy's back.

Josh ran the whole way, stopping only to identify each butterfly we saw as a monarch butterfly, maybe a baby one. :D

He somehow decided that this is a perfect stick to throw down the river.

And on the way back, with his super handy walking stick.

Brave little boy

Pool Party

We are now pool owners -- and even though it was fresh from the hose, the boys still thought it was warm enough to swim in.

Gramma Wright bought them kickboards the day before at Target, so here they are using them in a most unconventional way.

Josh was super excited to get to use his snorkel.

Daddy taught him how to use the snorkel without getting his whole body wet. A lifesaver.

This picture just makes me smile.

Josh loved seeing the mystery of the pool bottom with his snorkel goggles.

Josh's Skylanders Adventure Party

Josh told me to hang streamers from the roof for his outdoor decorations.  I think they looked lovely swaying in the breeze.

We made a Skylanders Portal for a cake -- thanks for the help frosting it  mom!

I have never heard so many busy boys be so quiet as I did on Saturday while they ate their lunch.  Josh picked the menu of pizza, goldfish, carrots and cucumbers with ranch, strawberries and watermelon. Delish!

Josh and I came up with ways to create the Skylanders weapons out of toys or other crafty stuff. This is Gabe carrying around Prism Break's prisms -- so heavy!

And Gabe using the hulk hands to be Terrafin.
Luke is using Flame Slingers "fire arrows" to capture the bad guy.
We were really impressed with Luke climbing the rock wall with Terrafin hands on.

Josh wanted to be Chop Chop most of the time.
Luke liked carrying Boomer's "TNT" around.

Later we played Pin The Skylander On The Portal -- a  huge success.

Kyler wanted to be last so he could get the best aim, but he came in second. He wanted to know if there was a prize for second. :)

When Josh pulled out this shirt and shorts, Riley said "Clothes" in the most bored, uninterested voice you can imagine.

Luke was THRILLED that we got our own pool for our own back yard!

Josh was super excited about his snorkel and flippers.  He has been wanting those since about Christmas time.

He also got a tackle box -- now that he robbed Daddy's he's all set.  Daddy might have to go restock, but Josh is all ready to catch any poor fish that get in his way.
