"Normal"?

My friend went to Iceland and bought the boys these funny shirts.

Friday was STEM and this week we built a pumpkin stand using only straws and masking tape.

Their finished product.  We think it looks like a transmission tower, complete with guide wires. :)

Saturday was a Cats home game. Luke was rockin' his Pit Viper shades.  He thinks knows he looks great.

Saturday we decided to up our exterior decorations for Halloween.  Luke designed the cemetery.

Love the attention to detail.
Scouting the deer...

Breaking for lunch.  I love this smile.  They are having so much fun together.

Josh is driving the truck, again.  Mike assures me he's doing a great job, but I get nervous seeing these pictures.

Sunday we were hunting widows...so we took a nice little bike ride to the dog park.  Ruby was in heaven and I LOVE watching a little boy on a bike.  Love the way he rides mostly standing up. Josh does it too.

Sunday Kyler came over to hang out, and they both love to decorate cookies.

Sunday after Kyler left, Luke and I resumed our low key Sunday, focusing on board games.

Luke carved his pumpkin all by himself. I cut the top off, and I scooped the guts, but he did the entire design and cutting of the face all by himself.

Josh's football picture was so great!  I love that smile!
My mighty hunters took a little break from the snow at the Clyde Park Cafe.  Teachin' him right!

Cabin, Football, and Hunting

We made a trip to the cabin this week. Amber and I went up with four kids (Luke, Rogen, Josie and Karlee).  It was so much fun and so relaxing.  A totally different vibe than in the summer time, but still lovely!

Rogen and Luke tried to fish a bit...but had no bites.

Brad, the neighbor to the south, lost a few metal chairs that blew under our dock.  He recruited the kids to help him recover them. Never a dull moment at Whiskey!

Ruby was happy all day every day, finding new sticks and taking herself for a swim whenever she wanted.

The drive home was lovely.  The snow was just falling in the mountains, and the foothills still had gorgeous fall colors.

We came back in time for Josh's last football game.  He played well!  He's the one in the orange jersey that is down in a  4-point stance.

The Bengals had an end of season party at Fuddruckers Saturday.  They went all out!

Great team and great season!

While we were at the lake, Josh and Daddy were hunting.

They picked a great panoramic spot to hunt.

They didn't get anything, but saw some great options for next time.  P.S. Those are my pack boots Josh is wearing.  He's 11.

Football Football Football

It has turned into a beautiful fall!  Twice a week practice in these views are A-OK.

Sierra came to town Wednesday and the boys were so excited to see her.  As soon as they said their "hi and How are you" small talk, they sat down each on their own devices and proceeded to ignore each other.

Friday was crazy hair day for Luke.  He let me use the blow dryer to make it stand up straight!

Josh got to wear his game jersey on Friday -- this is his silly face and pose.

There's our big smile!

I got to go to Luke's room from a STEM -- we built paper pillars of different shapes and then measured how many books they could hold.  The kids were so surprised at how many books they held!

Friday the Lions football league kids got to be introduced at the beginning of the BHS game. So exciting.

Saturday Kyler's team played Josh's team.  So much fun to watch them both.

Josh likes a nice, deep stance. He says he can "fire off" faster this way.

Strong blocking, Jenkins

Luke's game was so much fun to watch too. He was on fire!  Had a few nice runs, an interception, caught a pass, grabbed some flags, just had a great game.

Look at this moves!

Such focus...

Mr Mom Week

Our week started off with Parent Teacher Conferences with Luke's teacher.  She said he's really smart, and super funny, and confessed that she has to turn her face to hide her laughter at some of his witty commentary.  I took him to lunch at Sidewinders to "celebrate" his great conference.

Selfie with my sweet boy!

Tuesday we met daddy at Starky's for lunch.  The silly boys are my favorite boys.

See, more normal smiles are nice too.

Wednesday I flew to Vegas for a work trip.  This was the homework scene.  Impressive, daddy!

Daddy let the "which" stir the witches brew (aka spaghetti)...never a dull moment!

I stayed at the MGM. I haven't been to Vegas in about 6 years and I had almost forgot how over the top everything is there.  It was surreal to be there just a few days after the shooting massacre.  We drove by the Mandalay Bay on the way to the hotel from the airport, and the windows were still broken out of the shooter's room, and the Route 91 concert venue is still an active crime scene.  It was an eerie feeling to be there in person.

Thursday morning I went to Barnard's Lake Mead jobsite.  I thought it was kind of funny that I was going from hard hat to high heels in a matter of hours, so I made someone take my picture to prove I was there.
I went to a Rodan and Fields convention for 3 days. It was amazing, so many great sessions to motivate me and teach me, and so many cool women that I got to meet. I went to dinner with some new friends, and we walked back on the Strip.  One of them hadn't been to Vegas before so we took in some "classic" sights...like this pretty fountain that was dancing to music.

We stopped in a super fun candy store.  I got the boys some gummy brains to bring home, because why not?

Love the lights at night!

I missed some killer football games...Josh's team won their game and so did Luke. I love the pink socks for October!
Luke got to go to his friend Sam's camping sleepover birthday party on the Madison River.  Lucky kid!

Sam and his brother, Cam, have birthdays very close together so they always share a party.  8 guests, 10 total boys, for a camping overnight sounds pretty fun!

Luke was so impressed that they had  a 3-room tent!

Josh and dad went to the Cats game. I love that Josh and Kyler are so into it!

Sunday morning Josh and dad went shooting again, and Josh drove the truck again.  He's getting better each time.

I had a long layover in SLC (my flight out of Vegas was delayed and I had 4 hours instead of 30 minutes...) so I got to see my Hilerie!!  We sat and visited for 2 1/2 hours, and it was glorious!  Oh how a visit from your best friend just sets you right!
