Grateful

Luke asked me to come upstairs while he was playing, and I of course joined him. He just wanted to play with his lego creations by himself, but he wanted someone with him. I looked up and realized that he is small enough to fit on the trunk to play. This will only last so long, and I wanted to capture this moment when he's playing on top of tables instead of standing next to them.  Sweet Sigh.

Tuesday at school the first graders did their annual Friendship Feast.  Luke didn't want to smile, but he was in a fine little mood! I LOVE his construction paper hat that is a turkey.

This is their table.  Believe it or not, they all sat and ate nicely for their feast.

They sang a song about being thankful, complete with sign language actions to accompany it -- melted my heart.

This is my attempt for a real smile,  even his teacher was in on it (she's the arm tickling him), but not much luck.

Close to a smile...close.

That night the boys had a living room sleep over.

Aren't these the coolest kids?

Ruby wanted in on the action. She's actually asleep here.

Wednesday I went to work and Mike stayed home with the kids.  In case you were counting how many times this has ever happened, this is #1.  It was AMAZING for all of us. The boys started their big day with pancakes, even some cooked by Josh!
Daddy made a BB8 pancake (the new droid from star wars)

Thursday morning Mike and Josh went for a hiking hunt.

They're looking forward to next year when Josh will have an apprentice hunter license.

He looks SO serious.

Somehow I did not take a single picture from Thanksgiving or the big meal.  Also, no pictures from Friday.  I shopped and wrapped gifts, we ate like pigs, and somehow none of it was photo-worthy.

Saturday morning we decided to decorate for Christmas.  The boys were having a dance party when I turned on the Christmas songs

Saturday we went sledding.
They thought they were so cool in their santa hats.

We went to Bridger -- it's public before it opens for the season  -- and the boys got one lucky ride up the Big Hill.

This is his victory smile.

Ruby loved being able to go sledding with the boys.  There were several dogs and she was in heaven.

Luke's running start...

To this epic run.

Victory!  He beat me in our one race, and this is what I got when I asked who won. :)

Mike is clearly making a late-year run for Father of The Year. The boys asked him to film them as they slid down this new snow pile, and this is where he thought the best angle would be captured.

Luke is following in Josh's foot steps with no respect for his body and no fear.

Getting another ride, this time to the car.

Ruby love her big brother.
I asked the boys to go to the mud room while I got ready to go to the restaurant, this is what they did.

So happy!
So silly.

I was craving a burger, so we went to Red Chair and Josh created a tasty ice cream creation on his kid's menu.

Friday Fun through a Super Sunday!

Luke's room is studying states of matter, so I went in to help them learn how to make a liquid into a solid.  We made ice cream in Luke's little ice cream making ball.  It was a HUGE hit!  They rolled it back and forth naming their favorite ice cream flavor, and then skip counting by 10s all the way to 500!
We had a lot of shaking to do, so we decided to have a dance party. I love Luke's move in this one -- part marching soldier, part referree, all awesome.
Friday night Mike took the boys to the Hawks game, they won state championship!  It was a very cold night, but the boys were troopers and stayed all the way through the trophy ceremony!
Cuddled up in so many layers!
Cozy!
They went out on the field and showed off their sick moves.

Saturday we went to Bridger to get their ski passes. I love that Mike's is an Adult Legend.  Heck yeah he is!

Sunday morning we went to Soby's for pancake art. This is Anger from "Inside Out" - complete with flames on his head.

Josh's pancakes were a not-so-subtle message to the cooks. Soby's is going out of business in December, so Josh's message was Don't Leave. :)

We went to REI and dad was trying on shirts, so the boys held his coat for him. They decided it was a  two person coat.  So cute.

Cub Scouts - Rain Gutter Regata

Josh's boat had a 49ers super hero logo on it.
Luke's boat had a Seahawks helmet on it.

This is pre-event, so they didn't know they were going to win things yet.

Josh's den got to do flag ceremony duties.  Josh carried the American flag out at the end of the night.

He took his job very seriously, as he should!

Josh's boat was the fastest in the whole pack, he was undefeated all night!  He won a purple ribbon and a blue ribbon, which he staged for this photo.

Luke's boat won best in show for the whole pack, which is when all the scouts vote on the best looking boat. He was thrilled!

Wrap Up

Josh learned to work the snowblower this week. Big time! He set this photo up for me, and said it's his favorite one!

He had this facial expression most of the time, which makes me laugh. He did a super good job, for his first time ever.  He needs to work on straight lines (obvs!) but that will come. :)

Luke working hard on his first Cub Scout Project.  This is his boat for the rain gutter regatta.  He's sanding his pontoons here.  Dad was so good and let Luke do all the work!

Luke declared that he will wear a different hat every day (which will work for a while!), and chose this elf hat in early November.  That's my boy.  Christmas Season starts 11/1.

I love that he's not too big for footy jammies.  John and Dacia gave him these jammies last year and they still kind of fit.  So cute!

Josh boycotts PJs but still is snuggly at night time.

Josh made jello today.  I bought star wars molds and so we made some red, some blue, and Josh decided to combine them into a bowl of awesomeness.  He took this picture on my phone, so my Sunday photo transfer was surprising this week.
