Hauser Lake Camping

We camped at Black Sandy park -- we loved it.  It was right on the lake, and we had a boat slip and docks to play on.  John and Dacia brought their boat and we had a great time trolling around in the Green Bean.

thanks John and Dacia!
Mom and Dad joined us for Saturday afternoon - Sunday afternoon.  It was nice to hang out, thanks for coming!

Just having a beverage and enjoying the scenery.  I love how Luke's foot is over Daddy's leg.  Chillaxin'

We had to make an emergency trip into Helena for red and white daredevils and sunscreen.  Josh was Thrilled with his new lures.  Here they are on full display.

We still love the novelty of the trailer.  HI DADDY!

Luke is the happiest little boy.

Its fun to watch him eat.  Smores are among my very favorite to watch -- he loves them so much and they're just so very messy.

We met some other kids in the campground and they had a pretty intense water gun fight.

Sunday night when it rained like crazy we played inside.  The boys discovered the joys of "52 card pickup."

Black Sandy Park

They don't it Black Sandy for nothing -- there was a tiny little cordoned off area, complete with black sand/dark brown dirt. The boys were in heaven!

This is how Josh decided to clean off his sand.  Look at that jumping form!

Josh and his snorkeling set once again entertained us.  He's awesome. Awkward and dorky and awesome.

Fishing Weekend!

The boys are getting to be self sufficient little fishermen.  Luke is great at working the net.

This is Josh on Friday night, proud with his first fish of the weekend.  It grosses me out so much that he puts his thumb through the gills.

Josh was ready for another trip out on the boat (but we were preparing and eating dinner), so he just waited in the boat for us. For an hour.

Josh triumphant with the catch from just one boat trip.

Luke and Daddy with the morning's fish.  The one on the right won our weekend's Biggest Fish award.

First Bite

Josh was fishing off the dock trying to get the day's first bite...

happy mother's day

We bought a trailer and took it for its maiden voyage to West Yellowstone last weekend. It was great!
We saw many pregnant mommies but no babies.

The boys checked off wildlife they saw, so even a squirrel was really exciting!

We saw theese rock chucks (marmots) playing as we were hiking and we watched them for a nice long time.  They looked like they were having a fun time!

The view was terrific! No crowds at all.

We took the time to pull off to the springs and paint pots this time.
We hiked to the Old Faithful Observation Point to enjoy the view. This is on our way down.

Josh loves using his walking stick as a pointer.

We got to see Beehive Geyser because we hung out at the Old Faithful area for so long.  We're enjoying some ice cream here...

Beehive is the tallest geyser in the world.

On the way down from our hike we did some cave exploring.

We found two caves. one had a lot of poo in it, so of course we spent most of our time there.

Josh completed the Young Scientist Program and earned a badge.

He even checked out the Young Scientist Backpack so he'd have proper scientific tools.

Here he is by Heart Spring...with a cute little huggy face
It was a long day, and the trip back to West was a nice time to cuddle with their new Seat Pets.

Conked out!
