BMX Season 1 - Complete

I love the Flag Lap that they start every race with.

I'm so glad we brought The Good Camera for this race...he did so well and it was such a nice night for watching bikes.
Tonight Josh raced three times, two motos and one Main.  (in his age division you have to qualify in your motos to get into the Main...so you have to take first or second in the first moto or second in the second moto to race in the Main.  The Main is for the ribbons (or points if that's what you're after). Qualifying for the Main is a big deal.)
He took third, then first, then second.  Great night!

His technique is getting honed in nicely. Here he's concentrating on pumping the hilly parts.

He's even starting in the standing position...which looks scary as hell to me.

Such determination!

This is turn one of his second race, where he's waaaay out front of the other two racers.

He knew he had to finish first to get into the Main, so here he is checking the competition behind him. Kinda hard to make a subtle glance behind you when you're wearing a full face helmet.

Josh Jenkins with The One. The announcer dude always says The One or The Two, never first or second place.

And this is a smile under a helmet.  Happy boy tonight.

The Toughest Dude I Know

Thursday night we went to Buffalo Wild Wings with the three spicy wing lovers (Mike Sr, Mike Jr and Josh) and had a great time watching the toughest dude I know chow down on some seriously spicy wings.

Josh was not quite excited about his Dino Dash -- it was cold and his brother decided not to go so he was alone -- but he was not going to skip it.

He quickly found a friend in the starting coral and he ran in the older group (the race age was capped at 10). He was in the front pack and ran really fast.  The whole race only took him 5 minutes and he had about 7 obstacles to do as he ran around the lake.

He stayed pretty dry, but his legs were so muddy!
This is his After Picture.  I love the rain drops on his eyebrow, and his out of breath smile.  He's so tough.

Mud Lovers

Mike and I did our first run together on Saturday! It was the BozeMonster Challenge at the 100-acre park across our street, so we just had to do it.  It was a blast -- so muddy and wet and cold and fun!
Look at our sweet clean outfits and our happy anticipation.
They had a sweet slip and slide down our favorite sledding hill. Mike killed it -- looked so cool -- and I actually sort of almost killed a girl. Ha ha ha. I ran into her and took her out at the ankles. Nice.

It had so many obstacles that were  super muddy, like crawling through 6" of mud and over muddy things, and it was raining like crazy so everything was soaking. Still smiling, over half way through. :)

We took a dip in the pond after our mud fest to clean off before we got in the car to go home.  It was so cold out (45) that the pond felt nice and warm.

No Fear

The Jumpers.  We always jump off this bridge when we float the Yankee Jim Canyon.  Last year Josh said he'd do it "next year" and here we are.  He held to his prediction!

Jumping sequence...we told him to jump like a pencil and this is the form we got.  He rocks.

Our friend Ashtyn jumped too. She was super brave, only took a second to think about it and took the plunge.

The next day most of the kids jumped (not Ady and not Luke) but we didn't have our camera.

His first jump off the rocks...great commitment.

CANON BALL

He looks so happy after he jumps.  My sweet little daredevil.

It wouldn't be camping without a passed out boy and a dog...Ruby's so lucky.

Last Family Fun Night

It was the last family fun night at Bridger Creek.  We had been playing best ball on 5 holes the last times that we went, but this time we decided to do 5 holes.  It was such a gorgeous night. Josh's swing was fantastic all night.

Luke's back swing is on point.

Such a good daddy, helping Luke line up his shot.

Luke's a great putter.

This picture just cracks me up...his little march across the green...

Last day in Kalispell, and Home. Sigh. Home.

My parents live by this amazing bike path, it spans something like 40 miles.  On Friday morning we took a quick bike ride together  Josh couldn't resist the temptation of climbing the sound wall.  This was my idea for a photo but he asked for a different "pose" for his own.

See, he's very creative. Ha ha ha
Saturday we went to Lawrence Park to burn off some energy on the new zip line toy.  Grampa pushed the boys, and then John pushed, and then they did doubles.  It was entertaining to say the least.

The mission mountains were incredible on our drive home.  So beautiful.

The boys missed their dad and their dog so much.  They didn't really stop talking for a few hours, telling daddy every little thing of our week away.  Then they lined up in a strategic cuddle/movie watching pile.  Home.

Big Sky Waterslides

We hit the slides on Wednesday. The boys loved it, almost as much as their dad did 30 years ago.

We had great debates over hwihc was our favorite ride -- the river ride (white slide) or the Shredder Extreme (pink slide)

He smiled more this day than he has in a long, long time.  Made me happy to my toes!

Luke said this was the most fun he's had in a year.  Even Disneyland, even Soccer, everything.

Luke got really brave -- he asked to go backward down the slides almost the whole day!

Glacier - Avalanche Gorge and Misc.

Look at this ol' billy goat.  I love to see mountain goats on the side of the road.

Luke loved the Weeping Wall

We took a quick walk to the Avalanche Gorge. The boys think it must be something HUGE that would knock this cedar tree over.  Mind blowing, if you ask Luke

They asked if they could hug trees, and listen to trees. Sure, why not?

I wonder what the tree had to say

before we knew it, we were at my happy place, the gorge. I love this area so much.

I made my favorite boys pose in front of my favorite water.

Our first ever three person selfie.
