Jenkins Foursome

We had another Sunday Family Fun Night at the golf course.  It's so nice up there, and so fun to be silly and golf at the same time.

Josh has a pretty good swing.

Concentration!

Luke's form is a little more inconsistent, but sometimes he really nails it.
Luke has snoopy clubs, and I love that his set of clubs has three total clubs...a driver, an iron and a putter.

We let the boys drive the carts, and Luke cracked me up with his driving form. He practically had to stand up to hit the pedals.

He was a crazy driver, and loved it.

Lake Time

Sunday we took the three boats (the drift boat and the boys' kayaks) to Hyalite Reservoir for a little time on the water.  This is Josh driving and Luke fishing, with the kayaks being towed.  So many combinations of fun!
The boys were too tired to paddle into the wind, so they got a tow.

The boys were too cute, one fishing out of each side, but of course they would not both look at the camera at the same time. Sigh. Boys.

We took a little break to let Ruby swim and let the boys explore this tiny island.  Josh immediately found a "garage" for his kayak...three stumps that he could nestle right into cozily.
This scenery never gets old to me.
Ruby swam and swam, and then found a nice little bench to rest on while we trolled around.  She's such a sweet little girl.

Kayaks!

We bought kayaks for the kids when we were in Billings on Saturday.  We came home and took them promptly for a test drive.  The jeep is a great little kayak hauler.

Look at these boys.  One day, when they are river guides between college years, we'll think "they've always loved boats" and think back to these days.

A sunset smile.

Josh has some pretty intense facial expressions..

Josh is really getting into it.

We think Luke's struggle faces are too funny.

So intense

A smile while trying to SUP

Bumper Boats!

Ruby is one lucky girl, her brothers love her so much.

Our little swimmer
Josh gave Ruby a ride and they decided to throw her dummy for her in the middle of the pond.

Ruby's going to love the kayak rides...one day. For now, we decided to NOT teach her to jump out of the boat.

Fair Time

For the third year in a row, we went to the fair on Friday night with the Ryles.  This is a tradition I'd like to keep alive -- the kids love it so much and it's a blast watching them!

They're getting older and braver -- they're riding with no adults now.  This was their first time on the Mean Machine, and the Jenkins boys sure look nervous.
The boys and I rode the Mean Machine later, and Mike snapped this incredible photo on his iPhone. Seriously, how does he do this?  And seriously, when are we going to get a goo picture of Luke on a ride-group-photo?  We had a few good ones from Disney but we had just the top of Luke's head.  Now it's just his shoes.  I love it...but it would be nice to have his cute face in this!

We went from Big Scary Rides to Kiddies Rides and back again, all night.  Ady's smile cracks me up in this picture, and so does Luke's serious face. Come on, Luke, it's the Dragon Wagon!

Again with Glee from Ady and Worry from Luke.  Love it.

No carnival is complete without overpriced, trashy stuffed animals. The boys are fishing here.

And later, they tried their hands at the cork guns.

This is from the Ferris wheel - I love this sweet smile, fake or not.

The carousel is always a hit, no matter what the age.

A Fishing Derby?

This weekend we went to Hebgen Lake to enjoy the fishing and tubing.  I didn't take many pictures, but thankfully my dear friend Lisa did.  The highlight of the trip (for me and Luke, anyway) was Luek catching this hog of a fish!.
This is my new favorite picture of Luke.  That sweet, proud little smile makes me melt!
Lisa caught a play by play of the catching...this is the point at which we knew that fish was huge!
So happy!

I love this boy's smile.

This is what should be in dictionary under "proud."

This picture makes me laugh -- it's of me taking a picture of Mike and Luke, but Luke's face is so funny. So forced.  Posing for pictures is not our favorite thing.

Josh and the Tisdel boys fished out the back, hoping and wishing for their shot. Ty (blue life jacket) is 4, and caught a really nice brown trout shortly after Luke's excitement, but I didn't get a picture of that action.

And to keep the movie night tradition alive, here are the 7 kiddos all snuggled up watching Scooby Doo.

They just play so hard.  Luke folded in half and slept for an hour on the way home.

Lucky Josh was next to all of our pillows and sleeping bags, so he had a nicer place to rest.
All that padding gave him some killer bed-head.

Happy Independence Day!

We went camping at Canyon Ferry for the 4th of July weekend.  One of our friends had a flag on their trailer, and it looked so pretty to me in the sunset.

As you would expect, we spent a lot of time in the water.  The boys basically got out to eat and sleep. Luke really mastered the Explorer 200 rowing...although he looks quite concerned in this picture.

Josh and Gabe had a great time in these awesome kayaks.

And on the stand up paddle board.  They basically tooled around the bay on one floatation device or another all weekend.

Ady and Ashtyn and the only girls in our group of 8 children, so they play together a lot.  Could they be any cuter?
This is a picture of the three dogs swimming for one stick. Ruby was so happy to be with other dogs and to be swimming.

One of the friends brought a boat with a three-seat tube.  So much fun.  The boys rode around until our driver got dizzy.

Can you beat this scenery?

The kids got to watch movies when it got dark.  Spoiled!

We have wood freak hubands. This stack of wood was for three nights.  We burned through almost all of it too!

There really is nothing better than a campfire, though.  Luke likes to sit on daddy's lap and watch the fire.  And fall asleep...

Victory -- we tired our our sweet Ruby.

And last but not least, this is how Luke wanted to sleep Saturday night. Ruby sleeps on the couch on that blanket, so this night Luke chose to sleep there too so they could be togehter.  The next morning he told me it was great to sleep next to her because seeh protected him and he was not scared.  Job well done, Rubes.
