Soccer Camp

Luke had a week long soccer camp (only 1.5 hours/day, since he's so little) this week.   They had a little presentation (in the words of the coach) at the end of the camp on Friday.

The kids had to run up the middle of the cones and accept their poster and evaluation.

Luke got to shake his coaches' hands, like a pro.

The coaches offered autographs and photos, so why not?

This is Luke's evaluation, which made me smile. I said "who do you think was the soccer star of the week, who was your best player?" he didn't miss a beat "Me!"

Week of Random

One rainy afternoon I came home from work to discover that Brooke and Luke had made cookies. Luke wanted to frost them with me, and we had only some Christmas sprinkles, so on June 25 we made Christmas Cookies. :)

The boys desperately needed hair cuts one night, and the only place open was Sports Clips. We gave it a try, and it turned out it was the coolest place!  It kind of made me sad because it was not long ago that the boys were riding in planes and cars watching cartoons while they got their haircut, and now they're riding in regular chairs watching sports.

They got great cuts!

Friday was too rainy to eat our dirt cups outside (our version of dirt cups are pudding, smunched up oreos and gummy worms), so we ate them in the garage in the Jeep.  Super fun.

Later that same rainy day, luke and I made a collage.  He chose the picture from Time magazine with Brian Schwitzer (sp) , and referred to that picture as "the governor" the whole time.  As in, I'll put the blue car under the governor.  He sort of said "guvner" like he was from the south, too,  whichh added to my delight.

Ruby loaded up to go camping and was wondering where the heck her driver is, and when we can finally leave.

Summer Fun

Day 1 of Summer with Brooke the Babysitter was spent at the pond by the mall fishing for bass. Luke caught the only fish of the day, and man was it a beaut!
That night the boys decided to rearrange furniture and make a giant fort. They slept on the floor in their special little caves all night.  Ruby liked being in there with Josh, but she didn't make it all night.

Mid Week Trip

I had a two-day training in Billings, and I decided to ask Brooke the Babysitter to watch the boys during the day so they could experience Billings again.  It worked out great because we stayed at the Reef Hotel and so the boys were in heaven.  Brooke got a night with her friends in Billings, and I got some fun mini-vacay time with my boys.

Toys R Us in Billings -- Luke spent his MD Bucks (short for Mom Dad) on two toys.  He's a lego boy and I love it.

Josh got a boogie board. He told us in San Diego (back in March!) that he wanted a boogie board for floating the Madison. We thought he was crazy, but sure enough, it was a huge hit on Saturday!

Chuck E Cheese's was a huge hit. Josh did not want his picture taken, and Luke didn't want to have to stop eating for one.  These boys have priorities.

The boys spent SEVEN hours at The Reef (6.5 with Brooke, bless her heart!).  They did some water-American Ninja Warrior training on these lily pads.

They did the cargo net lily pad thing so much that they got blisters on their hands. Hard Core.

I got a room with a queen bed for Brooke and a king bed for the boys and me.  They decided a magic couch bed was kid sized and slept on the hide-a-bed instead.  A king bed all for myself? OK!!

When we first got to the hotel, we checked out the fitness center. They liked the cardio machines.

Luke liked lifting weights too. His face kills me.

River Rats

This is what two days on the river looks like.  The three boys floated the Big Hole on Sunday, and they were out of the house by 7 AM.  It made for tired out little boys in the backseat.

Luke caught the only fish of the for the third day in a row!

Saturday we floated the Madison with our friends and Mike was very brave and had FIVE boys and one dog in his boat!  Wow, it makes me tired just thinking about it. :)

It was Ruby's first drift boat trip and I would call it a success. She jumped out of the boat, out of the blue, so that was exciting, but she was really good for a rookie.  (Mike's chewing sunflower seeds, not spitting mad...)

Ruby made a good friend in Jen and Travis's sweet Benelli.  They swam after the frisbee for a long long time.

Last Soccer Game

He was aggressive during his last game.

He did this weird slide kick a lot, spent a lot of time on the ground, but had a good game.

Half way through the game, Luke asked for water on his hair to cool him off.  He knew how awesome he looked, it made him act really tough.

Talk about Swag.

We played against the Tisdel's team, and got a lot of cute pictures of Ty.

Random photos

I saw this tiny baby fawn on a bike ride last week. I think it was about 1/2 the size of Ruby, probably only a few days old.

Josh has been to three drum lessons and decided it was time to start teaching Luke drumming too.  The lesson was too cute.

Gramma and her grandkids.  The Fontana girls came to Bozeman Saturday, and so we had to try to get a 4-grandkid picture!

They're better at silly faces. :)

I was looking for Josh, and I found him in Ruby's bed under the table in the living room just watching youtube with headphones on.

Luke took a nap watching World Cup soccer.  When the kid's done, the kid is done.

We took Sierra and Cassie to the warped wall (aka skateboarding half pipe) and let them try to become america ninja warriors!
We went to the mall fishing pond for Father's Day.  Luke caught six fish!

Laser Tag Party

We had Josh's 8th birthday party at Laser Dash, the only laser tag place in town.  We had decorations of glow sticks that the kids put together while we were setting up.

The kids got to play 3 rounds of laser tag -- look at this crew!

The results of each match were announced to an anxious audience.

between games the kids played air hockey and were wild

Then it was cake time..Josh's silly smile makes me happy.

He got all 8 candles out with one breath!

Then we opened presents.  Josh was in a fabulously silly mood, look at this goof ball facial expression.

He got a bunch of nerf guns, BMX bike grips, a crawfish trap, and a robot that walks up windows!

Pizza for all!

Luke and Grampa played a few matches of air hockey while most of the kids played a round of laser tag.

Hot competition!

Look at this form!
